Launching New Subject - Learning Capital market Instruments
United States of America has had very low bank deposit rates for the past several decades. This has prompted most Americans to invest in capital markets either directly or through funds which has offered an effective way to create a corpus for retirement to Americans.
In contrast, Indian families have traditionally invested in gold, real estate and given higher general interest rates in India, in bank fixed deposits. The prevailing low interest rates in India has raised important question about wealth creation for many Indians. A clear solution is available from the equity market boom in 2020 – that lower interest rates tend to favour capital market assets. It is now widely expected that investments in capital markets will be necessary for most of us as many expect lower interest rates over longer periods of time.
There are myriads of debt and equity market products available for investors in India. Strengthening Financial Inclusion in the country has been one of the important developmental agendas of the Reserve Bank of India and Government of India. Better financial literacy empowers the investors to make informed choices leading to their financial well-being.
