Capstone Simulations to help build Financial Analysis Skills
"Learn by Doing"
We introduce a new way to learn finance skills - "by doing". Our online personalized finance lab, www.equitylevers.com, provides excel based real time simulations in a range of finance subjects using examples from companies like Maruti, Marico etc. A logical extension to textbooks and videos for real practice so that work skills could be developed alongside knowledge.
The simulations are designed by senior practitioner's having considerable experience in corporates and by professors at the Indian Institutes of Management.
Our Simulations for Teaching/ Testing Skills in Financial Analysis
Our financial analysis simulations will help a beginner develop a working knowledge in financial analysis on reading financial data. He / she need not possess domain skills.
More advanced level simulations are built for those seeking to acquire professional level financial skills. A variety of simulations help develop skills in a range of financial skills including, cash flows, working capital, capex, comparing companies, event interpretations etc. The following flow chart captures the the major simulation segments. Within each topic, simulations focused on important skills are available. Each simulation uses live data of Listed companies to help demonstrate / test the skill.

Each simulation is built around live data (one day old) from Indian listed companies with a focus to build accounting and financial reporting skills. The projects are set to move up from basic level to advanced level.
The simulations are required to be solved by candidates and “learn by doing”.
When assigned, each candidate user gets a different company with live data to solve. Host of features are available to provide personalization to each candidate and also prevent copying (and ensure every candidate actually solves the simulation).
We also provide study material and video recording of solutions for similar live projects. The idea is to show how it is done and then enable the them to solve it. For students who dont have excel skills, an excel primer was also provided.
Usage: Students can self assign our certifications (a set of simulations) and Professors, trainers and recruiters can assign our certifications as tests and as certifications
How does the Simulation work
Students down load a simulation as a password controlled excel workbook. At the time of download, real time data of a listed company is downloaded from our live terminal. Student has to solve and provide answers in the solution work sheet. Based on answers, a scoring mechanism scores students answers and computations. The structure of the simulation is designed to depict a corporate work situation.
